Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) are introduced

Ian Goodfellow and colleagues posted the paper introducing Generative Adversarial Networks, in which a generator and a discriminator network compete in a game that drives the generator to produce realistic data. GANs became a dominant approach for image synthesis and generative modeling for years. The paper was submitted to arXiv on June 10, 2014.
